We tackle the most complex problems in quantitative finance, by bringing scientific clarity to financial complexity.
From our London HQ, we unite world-class researchers and engineers in an environment that values deep exploration and methodical execution — because the best ideas take time to evolve. Together we’re building a world-class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.
As part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high-impact research – designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.
Take the next step in your career.
In this role, you'll provide expertise in designing and operating cloud-native applications on AWS, enabling engineering teams to successfully build, test, and deploy their workloads. You'll establish patterns and best practices across container/serverless workflows and observability, while developing automation for AWS platform management including governance enforcement and operational tooling.
This is a highly collaborative role partnering with application engineers, platform teams, architecture, and security to streamline effective cloud adoption, application delivery, and automated platform operations.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Provide AWS application lifecycle expertise, guiding teams on patterns and best practices for EKS, ECS, and Lambda workloads, including establishing observability strategies across end-to-end delivery and operational phases
Supporting integrations between AWS and internal tooling (source control, build systems, artifact repositories, security scanning and monitoring platforms)
Identifying and reducing friction points in build, test, and deployment workflows to improve developer experience
Collaborating with platform and security teams to embed governance and operational best practices into pipelines
Creating and maintaining technical documentation and reusable patterns
Advising on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency optimisation
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Deep expertise in Terraform beyond deploying infrastructure, including designing modular, reusable patterns and implementing testing strategies
Strong Python engineering skills, building robust automation and tooling
Proficiency with CI/CD tooling, ideally Jenkins
Proven experience implementing container workflows with Docker and ECR, including image build automation and security scanning integration
Experience configuring CloudWatch for logs, metrics, and alarms to enable observability across delivery and operational processes
Experience working closely with application teams to improve deployment reliability and developer experience
Ability to produce clear documentation and establish repeatable engineering patterns
Strong communication skills, comfortable collaborating across engineering, platform, architecture, and security teams
