WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The AV CAD Designer will work as part of the EMEA & APAC AV Design and Deployment team helping to design and develop cutting edge audio and video services / systems. You will be involved in the lifecycle of the overall internal AV/VC technology strategy.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Will setup and maintain multiple concurrent Revit and AutoCAD projects using client provided models and drawings.
- Understands 2D & 3D construction documentation and is able to apply our audiovisual deployment designs using software that includes (but is not limited to) AutoDesk AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360 & Bluebeam Revu.
- Needs to understand the design intent and deployment methodology behind our event and broadcast audiovisual systems and represent these in multi-stakeholder CAD / BIM projects.
- Can make qualified decisions of where to site AV equipment and supporting infrastructure (Power, Data, Containment) in event spaces and broadcast studios with assistance from a Deployment Engineer.
- Alter existing template system schematics to reflect deployment choices.
- Generate functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams and equipment lists.
- Apply existing in-house standards to determine system design, bill of materials, and drawings for new offices.
- Assist in the development and management of existing in-house standards, AutoDesk Revit Families & AutoCAD Blocks including a revision system to track changes & improvements over time.
- Ensure Revit families contain correct COBIE compliant data and are built with consistency and modelled for ease of use
- Prepare pre-bid construction drawing sets for RFP
- Prepare 3D renderings, as needed, for illustration using Revit, Vectorworks, NavisWorks, Sketch-up, PowerPoint, etc.
- Provide Deployment Engineer with project updates to ensure project timelines are adhered to.
- Develop engineering and architectural drawings including Plan, RCP, Section, Elevation and Detail views
- Regularly measure and monitor project progress to identify variances. Make needed corrections, including design drawings, timelines, scope, and standards
- Able to identify technical issues and risks and communicate these to a Deployment Engineer.
- Coordinates with Facilities, Engineering, and CorpNet on overall project timelines, dependencies, and risk/issues
