Job Description

Automation Test Analyst 

Job Description: Test Analyst with Automation (BFSI Sector)
Location: Birmingham (2 days a week on-site)

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Test Automation: Write automated tests for API endpoints using JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • API Testing: Execute and manage API testing to ensure system functionality and performance.
  • Test Planning & Case Creation: Develop and document test plans, test cases, and test strategies within Azure DevOps.
  • Test Data Management: Utilize SQL Developer to write queries for extracting and validating test data from databases.
  • Code Reviews: Raise peer reviews through GitHub for code quality, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Agile Practices: Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure quality delivery within sprints.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.

Qualifications

Required Skillset:

  • Automation Testing: Proven experience in writing automated tests, particularly for API-level testing using JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Azure DevOps: Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, including test plan creation, writing test cases, and managing the test lifecycle.
  • API Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with Postman or Bruno for API testing.
  • SQL: Expertise in writing SQL queries for data extraction and validation from databases.
  • Version Control: Experience using GitHub for version control and performing code reviews.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working in an Agile environment, particularly within Scrum frameworks, including daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills.
