You'll conduct briefing calls, perform initial vetting of author talent, and manage the candidate pipeline across assigned content areas. The work you do is essential in maintaining a strong, active pipeline that meets curriculum needs, collaborating with others for final selection and ongoing author engagement.

The Author Recruiting Specialist collaborates closely with curriculum teams and Author Community Managers to help meet our goal of expanding our expert author network with world-class instructors and practitioners - they're the backbone of the content we offer our customers on our platform!

Who you’re committed to being:

  • You are not afraid to be yourself, experiment, make mistakes and learn from them, ask questions, or voice your concerns.
  • When communicating you are self-aware, insightful, and proactive.
  • You are a team member first and individual contributor second. You are aware that high-performing teams are only as strong as their weakest link.
  • You believe in continuous improvement and request frequent feedback from others.
What you’ll do:
  • Source potential author candidates through platforms like LinkedIn, GitHub, tech forums, conference lineups, and online communities
  • Conduct initial screening and briefing calls to assess candidate interest, content expertise, and availability
  • Provide detailed candidate summaries and recommendations for review
  • Coordinate audition logistics and support candidates throughout the evaluation process
  • Maintain and organize candidate records, ensuring data is clean, current, and complete
  • Assist with initial onboarding tasks, including documentation prep, system access, and process education
  • Maintain accurate tracking of candidate pipeline in recruiting systems
  • Collaborate with the Author Enablement team to iterate on outreach strategies, messaging, and qualification rubrics
  • Help maintain team documentation and recruiting workflows
Experience you’ll bring:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience managing candidate or lead pipelines with accuracy and follow-through
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to juggle multiple requisitions and timelines
  • Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
  • Comfortable using or learning CRM systems like Salesforce
  • Knowledge of or interest in the technology industry and/or online education is a plus
Requirements:
  • 2–3 years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, business development, or talent coordination
  • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Westlake/Dallas, TX office should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. This approach enables more effective collaboration, quicker decision-making, and a stronger culture, while still providing flexibility.
Why you’ll love working here:
  • We work in a blended environment that supports collaboration, flexibility, and connection across teams.
  • We are mission-driven, shaping the future of tech upskillling and delivering impact that matters.
  • We foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, where everyone can contribute and thrive.
  • We are always learning, creating an environment where you can take on new challenges, expand your skills, and grow with purpose.
