Accountabilities

The Atlassian Systems Administrator is responsible for the product, solution, and technical leadership with domain expertise in the Atlassian suite and will be charged with the overall management and governance of the Atlassian suite following all Datasite technology and risk management policies.

Position Summary

The Atlassian Systems Administrator will oversee the management, configuration, governance, and integration of all tools within the Atlassian suite, including API integrations and custom solutions. The suite includes Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, PowerAutomate for Jira, and other related plugins. This position will also develop or integrate the suite with existing products used by Datasite and assist in creating multi-dimensional granular and rollup reporting on teams, departments, portfolios, lines of business, products, projects, and more. An intermediate understanding of Jira products and their system implications, along with broad knowledge of tool integration, is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and governance of the Datasite enterprise Atlassian suite, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain policies, processes, and procedures to uphold standards and best practices.
  • Create user guides, provide user training and enablement, and work with the Atlassian Steering Committee.
  • Accountable for Atlassian tools solution, design, architecture, implementation, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Atlassian development team to determine best practices and SOPs.
  • Work with other Atlassian administrators to deliver and maintain exceptional solutions for all users and customers.
  • Ensure the scalability, sustainability, and manageability of the Atlassian suite in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure data integrity at every level (team, department, program, portfolio, line of business, and enterprise).
  • Enforce all enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Conduct Atlassian software demos, training, and user enablement.
  • Serve as a trusted support and escalation point for all users and internal customers.
  • Advise key stakeholders, partners, and internal customers on best practices, configuration, and recommendations to avoid common pitfalls and challenges.
  • Collaborate on change requests, assessing impacts on the Atlassian suite and risks to architecture, data integrity, sustainability, manageability, scalability, and cost/impact of change.
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and communicate all changes.
  • Install, configure, maintain, administer, and enhance Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and additional key third-party add-ons.
  • Create and manage complex configuration elements, including enterprise templates and their associated screens, workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
  • Install and configure additional key third-party add-ons, plugins, and apps to provide enhanced capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Atlassian Cloud Administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with Confluence.
  • 2+ years of experience with Jira Software.
  • 2+ years of experience with Jira Service Management.
  • Working knowledge of Jira Asset Management.
  • Hands-on expertise with the Atlassian product suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Atlassian Align, Rovo, Loom, Atlassian Guard, Statuspage, etc.).
  • General knowledge and understanding of Jira Administration.
  • Basic understanding of the Scaled Agile (SAFe) framework within Jira and how Jira supports scalability architecturally.
  • Basic knowledge of JQL for building reports and dashboards.
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders and recommending process improvements.
  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a collaborative attitude.
  • Self-starter with a keen interest in technology and highly motivated toward success.
  • Initiative and desire to learn business and technology subjects.
  • Ability to work independently and provide updates to management.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; proven teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • IT Service Management Certification (e.g., ITIL) or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL Foundations v3/v4 Certification.
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent experience.
  • Jira Administration for Cloud Certification
  • Confluence Administration Certifcaiton
  • Understanding of Github and the connection with Jira.
  • General understanding of Scum and Kanban.
  • General understanding of SDLC, ITIL, CI/CD, and Agile Frameworks.
  • Experience using Atlassian API integrations.
