About the role:
Knowledge Engineers are responsible for building out Droit’s decision platform for regulatory compliance by developing rules that evaluate global regulatory obligations, which financial institutions of various scales from around the world must comply with. Knowledge Engineers will develop and hone a unique combination of skills, coupling a proficiency in analyzing complex regulatory requirements with an engineer’s ability to create functional, scalable knowledge models. You can expect challenging and stimulating work that drives solutions for some of the world's leading financial institutions.
What you will do in this role:
- Write software in a proprietary dependently-typed functional language, where types are used to directly specify data validations
- Analyze regulatory texts and implement them as code, carefully maintaining that code by assessing the impact of regulatory changes
- Drive understanding of regulatory requirements for clients and fellow Knowledge Engineers by annotating knowledge models and composing documentation
- Build out critical new product lines, including solutions for the world’s largest financial institutions
- Work closely with other Knowledge Engineers and Software Engineers to improve the language, tooling and workflows
What we are looking for:
- Strong academic background in a technical or analytical field
- Practical experience with programming and familiarity with basic tools, including a version control system (e.g., git)
- Strong understanding of algorithmic thinking and ability to solve challenging problems through abstraction and modeling
- Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to precision
- High degree of curiosity with the ability to ask thoughtful questions
- Demonstrated ability to engage successfully in self-directed research or independent learning
- Collaborative mind-set and commitment to knowledge sharing
