Job Description

Your new role
You will bring your knowledge of Town Planning into play as you take a lead role in advising on planning strategy, delivering planning applications, and providing day to day planning advice. You will have the opportunity to drive sustainable change through all stages in the project lifecycle across within development and infrastructure projects.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to apply an excellent understanding of Town Planning in the UK, in all stages of the project lifecycle from early-stage feasibility/risk appraisal, through to delivery of planning conditions, obligations and scheme revision.

You will also need the skills to disseminate changes in the planning system across Ramboll, to Clients and the team in which you will work and help lead; and be able to form and hold good Client relationships.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Work with Directors to take a lead role in advising on planning strategy and project managing applications and appeals,
  • Lead others in such work and provide constructive feedback, being a core part of Ramboll’s Town Planning team and be recognised as key person within the team,
  • Contributing to business development activities, including the preparation of fee proposals, tender submissions, marketing materials and presentations but most importantly, be willing to maintain Client relationships
  • Support the team’s leadership and wider management with team functions, including mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Develop relationships, build networks and collaborate with Ramboll technical specialists.
  • Represent Ramboll at meetings with clients and at networking events.

 

Your new team
You will be part of our wider Development team, albeit working on both development and infrastructure projects. This is part our Global Impact Assessment Service Line which been especially successful in driving further growth, targeting large, strategic projects – though not exclusively. Our projects are wide ranging and diverse and include housing, mixed use, regeneration, energy, highways and data centres.

More widely, our UK business employs experts 19 locations and covers a breadth of consulting services structured around Town Planning and impact assessment, compliance, strategy and transactions, new initiatives and sustainability, product safety and stewardship, contaminated land, and Water. Ramboll’s clients include UK and global multinationals, utilities, local and central government and international institutions. Ramboll works flexibly and with this you will be part of an exciting team of experts, who respect each other and work towards a common goal. 

About you

These include: 

  • 7 years+ of experience
  • A degree in Town Planning or a related degree and or Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Professional Membership of the RTPI
  • Project delivery and Town Planning experience
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to liaise with colleagues and maintain good client relationships
  • A keenness for professional development and progression
