The Associate Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain product features, ensuring quality through testing and collaboration, while learning from senior engineers.
Position Summary:
Perforce is searching for an Associate Software Engineer to join the team on a full time basis. This is an entry level position within the business allowing successful applicants to learn professional concepts from their team or technical leaders. Associate Software Engineers contribute to assignments as part of a team within one Engineering function and will implements solutions and contributes to project deliverables with direct guidance from senior technical experts.
This position will support our Perforce QAC brand. Perforce QAC is the preferred static code analyzer for C and C++ in tightly regulated and safety-critical industries that need to meet rigorous compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain features used with the product.
- Test design and planning to ensure the quality of the product.
- Developing tools to support the maintenance of the product.
- Assisting in the verification of product releases where required.
- Assisting in the maintenance and expansion of the department’s infrastructure.
- Cross (scrum) team collaboration to provide support to other projects and to develop and align best engineering (automated) practices.
- May be required to support additional products/brands as needed.
Requirements:
- Essential: C++
- Desirable: Python, Bash (or similar Linux shell)
- Degree in Software Development or Computer Science or equivalent experience
- A passion for software development and a desire for a career in software engineering.
- Desire to engage with the variety of team activities.
- Good documentation, communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with OS’s and prevalent variants of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and browsers.
- Attention to details with analytic, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
