About our Team
The Health and Medical Sciences group in our Science, Technology, and Medical, Journals division manages an extensive collection of high impact journals. We are responsible for managing and developing existing journals, launching new journals, and acquiring new society contracts to ensure annual growth and customer satisfaction. We take a strategic approach to deliver for our various audiences: authors, editors, researchers, societies, and academia.
About the Role
As an Associate Publisher, you will have responsibility for a portfolio of journals in health and medicine. You will work on related projects and initiatives that help deliver innovation and growth to our organization. You will build successful partnerships with individuals and institutions to develop mutually beneficial long-term collaboration.
Responsibilities
Developing the strategy for the portfolio to maintain growth and create ideas for new journals to launch
Collaborating closely with other publishers managing related journals
Establishing networks with key external and internal stakeholders, in order to manage and develop the portfolio successfully
Engaging with cross-functional teams, stakeholders. and customers to deliver innovative journal solutions
Working with editors, authors, editorial boards. and the wider academic community to ensure copy flow of relevant, high-quality manuscripts
Monitoring continuous quality control and all aspects of day-to-day editorial, production, and publishing operations and effectually addressing improvements where required
Meeting portfolio objectives regarding content growth, articles market share, citation share, relative impact factor, editorial speeds, author and editor satisfaction
Keeping up-to-date with trends in Scientific, Technical, and Medical publishing to maintain awareness and keep stakeholders informed of developments
Requirements
Have an in-depth educational background and keen interest in academic publishing
STM publishing experience
Have excellent English proficiency, both written and oral, and experience communicating across international boundaries.
Be a natural communicator with an ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams and external teams
Show the ability to be a self-starter and flexible to adapt to changing priorities
Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful initiatives
Be able to build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community
Be able to identify and understand market needs for potential business opportunities
Have an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoy discovering new technologies and online developments
Be able to travel based on internal and external stakeholder needs

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $59,200 - $98,600.
