About Faculty

At Faculty, we transform organisational performance through safe, impactful and human-centric AI.

With more than a decade of experience, we provide over 350 global customers with software, bespoke AI consultancy, and Fellows from our award winning Fellowship programme.

Our expert team brings together leaders from across government, academia and global tech giants to solve the biggest challenges in applied AI.

Should you join us, you’ll have the chance to work with, and learn from, some of the brilliant minds who are bringing Frontier AI to the frontlines of the world.

Why now?

We're experiencing rapid growth and are looking for an Associate to be at the forefront of high impact and mission critical AI transformation programmes that aim to improve society and public services in the UK.

The role:

We're looking for an intelligent, curious, mission-driven Associate to work directly with UK Government customers, collaborating with Faculty’s expert delivery teams and technical experts to shape, build and deploy tools that make a measurable impact.
This is an intellectually demanding role that requires strong analytical skills, exceptional judgement, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You’ll be solving complex and sensitive problems, often for the first time and in fast-changing environments, and you’ll need to do so with discretion and integrity.
You’ll be embedded in a cross-functional team, which - depending on project/client needs - could include working closely with Data Scientists, Engineers, Product Managers, Delivery Leads and Designers. We care deeply about real-world impact, and take a hands-on approach to making sure the tools we build are not just technically excellent but actually useful and usable for the people who rely on them.

What you’ll be doing:

Your day-to-day work will vary, but could include:

  • Working side-by-side with Government stakeholders to understand mission goals, day-to-day challenges to identify needs and opportunities. and user needs;

  • Managing individual workstreams to support the successful delivery and implementation of bespoke AI products;

  • Translating complex operational requirements into clear product requirements, including writing user stories for multi-disciplinary teams;

  • Contribute to the design, prototyping and iteration of solutions Working closely with technical teams to ensure that projects run smoothly on a day-to-day basis

  • Contributing to internal thought leadership, strategy and capability development across the team.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for people from a range of backgrounds who can bring exceptional intellectual ability, clear thinking, and strong judgment to public sector innovation problems.

For this role, we’re particularly looking for:

  • Understanding of the full product lifecycle, and experience delivering digital products across some aspects of that lifecycle, either within a product organisation, consultancy or government.

  • Experience of delivering to the Government Service Standard, and Design Thinking principles, is highly desirable;

  • Demonstrable knowledge about - and passion for - AI and data science;

  • Experience conducting, and ideally planning user research across multiple stages of product development (i.e. generative to evaluative research);

  • Strong analytical, written, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex or incomplete information - especially translating insights from user research into clear user needs - so the whole team understands the goals and can create effective user stories;

  • Understanding of product management methods, including prioritisation techniques, user journey mapping, planning and roadmapping;

  • Understanding of Agile and related methodologies and the basis of iterative development and continuous delivery;

  • Arabic and other relevant language comprehension is highly desirable - but not essential;

  • A desire to continuously learn from those around you and improve;

  • A proactive desire to take initiative and own the solution to a problem.

We know that diverse ideas, backgrounds and ways of thinking make us better problem-solvers, and we’re committed to building a team that reflects that. If you’re not sure you meet all the criteria, but think you could be great in the role, we’d still love to hear from you.

What we can offer you:

The Faculty team is diverse and distinctive, and we all come from different personal, professional and organisational backgrounds. We all have one thing in common: we are driven by a deep intellectual curiosity that powers us forward each day.

Faculty is the professional challenge of a lifetime. You’ll be surrounded by an impressive group of brilliant minds working to achieve our collective goals.
Our consultants, product developers, business development specialists, operations professionals and more all bring something unique to Faculty, and you’ll learn something new from everyone you meet.
