About Kensho

Kensho is S&P Global’s hub for AI innovation and transformation, building intelligent products that empower financial professionals to work smarter, faster, and with deeper insight. Our teams design and deliver AI-driven tools that help analysts, researchers, and decision-makers make sense of complex information — transforming data into clarity and action. From natural language interfaces that simplify research to automation that streamlines analysis, Kensho’s products bring the power of artificial intelligence directly into the workflows that shape global markets.

We're looking for an Associate Designer to join our team and help shape the user experience of our AI-powered products. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to design interfaces that make complex AI capabilities feel intuitive, useful, and trustworthy. This is an ideal role for a designer early in their career who's excited about the intersection of design and artificial intelligence. You will be working closely with our team that is located in the United Kingdom, as well as our engineering team located in India.

At Kensho, we hire talented people and give them the autonomy and support to build remarkable technology and user experiences. We value bias toward action, minimizing unnecessary hierarchy and process so that ideas can move quickly from concept to impact. We collaborate across disciplines — combining technical excellence, design thinking, and business context — to solve hard, meaningful problems.

Our culture is grounded in openness, honesty, and curiosity. We dedicate time and resources to explore new ideas, and as a result, we create products that are scalable, reliable, and genuinely useful to the professionals who rely on them every day.

What You'll Do

  • Design user interfaces and experiences for AI-driven products across web and mobile platforms

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups that communicate interaction patterns for AI features such as chat interfaces, generative tools, recommendation systems, and data visualizations

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate AI capabilities into clear, human-centered experiences

  • Contribute to and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency across AI product surfaces

  • Participate in user research and usability testing to understand how people interact with AI tools, and use findings to iterate on designs

  • Help develop interaction patterns for AI-specific challenges like loading and streaming states, confidence indicators, error handling, feedback loops, and progressive disclosure of complex outputs

  • Support the team in thinking through transparency, explainability, and trust in AI-facing interfaces

What You’ll Need:

  • 1–3 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field (internships and academic projects count)

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills, interaction thinking, and a user-centered process

  • Proficiency in Figma (or similar design tools) and experience building or contributing to design systems

  • Familiarity with designing for conversational interfaces, generative AI, or data-rich products is a plus

  • Basic understanding of how AI/ML systems work and their limitations — you don't need to be technical, but you're curious and willing to learn

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfort working in cross-functional teams with engineers and researchers

  • An eye for detail combined with a bias toward iteration and shipping

  • Interest in the ethical implications of AI design, including fairness, accessibility, and responsible use

What Really Gets Our Attention:

  • Familiarity with prompt design or crafting user experiences around large language models

  • Experience conducting or supporting user research

  • Background or coursework in HCI, cognitive science, or a related discipline

  • Experience designing for data-dense and/or AI-driven products
