The Associate General Manager (AGM) is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, team performance, and strategic execution within the organization. Working closely with the General Manager, the AGM will oversee daily business functions, optimize workflows, and ensure cross-functional collaboration to meet company objectives. This role requires a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance both strategic initiatives and hands-on management.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operational Leadership: Work alongside the General Manager to oversee day-to-day business operations, ensuring smooth execution across departments while maintaining a focus on operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Strategic Planning Support: Collaborate with the General Manager on identifying priorities and executing business strategies to allow us to reach our targets. Assist in setting clear objectives and ensuring they are met by cross-functional teams.
  • Process Optimization: Identify operational inefficiencies and work with team members to streamline processes, improve workflows, and enhance productivity. Implement best practices and monitor performance improvements.
  • Team Performance Monitoring: Track departmental performance against established KPIs, and provide actionable feedback to ensure teams meet or exceed goals.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Address operational challenges as they arise by evaluating the situation and implementing appropriate solutions. Provide timely and effective resolutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Leadership During Transitions: Act as a leader during transitions, such as reorganizations or changes in company direction. Help manage change within the organization and keep teams focused and motivated.
  • Project Leadership: Take ownership of key projects, ensuring that timelines, resources, and milestones are met. 
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with various department heads to ensure alignment and successful execution of company initiatives. Promote interdepartmental communication to facilitate collaboration and address operational challenges.
  • Staff Management and Development: Promote a metrics-driven culture, with the development of consistent approaches to setting performance targets, forecasting, and ongoing performance improvement; Help the GM in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for the team. Promote a high-performance culture and drive employee engagement through ongoing development and motivation.

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, start-up operations, and/or management experience;
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
  • Proven ability to drive performance and achieve targets.
  • Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the key takeaways, and disseminate meaningful insights;
  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution - be a strong problem solver with a data-oriented approach;
  • Experience with data analysis, project management, and operational strategy.
  • Grittiness, creativity, and ability to operate with unknowns to get things done;
  • Ability to diffuse conflict without escalation through strong interpersonal skills.
