Interested in part-time, job-share or flexible working? We want to talk to you!

Join our community.

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customised services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.

The Financial Crime Compliance Assurance function plays a critical role in supporting the Financial Crime Programme by independently testing policies, procedures, and controls, and evaluating their compliance and alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

In this interesting role within the Global Compliance Monitoring, Testing and Assurance (MTA) team, you’ll be part of our global function and will work collaboratively with colleagues in other jurisdictions. You’ll be conducting Financial Crime Compliance reviews within Santander Corporate and Investment Banking and will support MTA management with ad hoc projects and tasks. Your work will have direct influence and impact across Santander Corporate and Investment Banking to ensure an effective and proactive risk management.

If you’ve performed a similar role previously, this could be the perfect opportunity to develop your career.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Conducting testing to assess the design and operational effectiveness of Financial Crime controls

  • Performing issue validation to confirm that recommendations have been implemented as prescribed and that remedial actions are sustainable

  • Assisting in collection and preparation of meaningful management information (MI) for MTA management, relevant stakeholders and committees/fora

  • Collaborating with other Compliance and Financial Crime teams on training programmes, risk assessments, and Group-wide initiatives as required

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Crime Risks, including AML, Sanctions, Fraud, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption

  • Proven experience in an Internal Audit, Assurance, or Controls Testing team, with an understanding of risk-based methodologies

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Industry recognised qualification in Financial Crime such as ACAMS, ICA or equivalent

  • Knowledge and experience of Corporate and Investment Banking products, services, and operational processes

  • Familiarity with Data Analytics and data interrogation techniques, with the ability to extract insights and identify trends from complex datasets

What else you need to know:

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 3 days a week (pro-rata for part-time roles).

If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.

If you’re interested in this role but with part time hours or a job-share we would still love to hear from you and discuss these.
