We are seeking a motivated and analytically minded Real Estate Finance Associate to join our EMEA Occupier Finance team within Cushman & Wakefield’s Global Occupier Services division. Operating at the intersection of real estate and finance, this team delivers strategic financial advisory, structured transactions, and consulting services to major occupier clients across EMEA.

You will support the development and execution of complex real estate portfolio strategies including sale and leasebacks, lease liability transfers, and acquisition/disposal transactions. This is a unique opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, engage with senior stakeholders, and help shape how our clients manage and account for their real estate portfolios under standards such as IFRS 16.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultancy and transactional projects across EMEA for global occupier clients, with a focus on sectors including banking, financial services, and the public sector.

  • Perform financial and accounting analysis to support transaction structuring, business case development, and client decision-making.

  • Develop bespoke Excel-based financial models tailored to client-specific requirements.

  • Prepare clear and insightful reports, board papers, and presentation materials for senior client stakeholders.

  • Act as a key liaison between client real estate, finance, accounting, and treasury teams.

  • Coordinate with internal teams across capital markets, agency, and project development to provide comprehensive real estate and financial solutions.

  • Manage project timelines, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence.

  • Support new business development through proposal creation, client pitches, and identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal colleagues across the global C&W network.

  • Contribute to marketing, thought leadership, and the development of the team’s external profile.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a real estate finance, accounting, or consultancy environment with a solid understanding of the property lifecycle and investment principles.

  • Strong understanding of the financial implications of real estate transactions on company financial statements (Cash Flow, P&L, Balance Sheet).

  • Familiarity with IFRS 16 and US GAAP ASC 842 lease accounting standards.

  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling, macros, and AI integration.

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office applications.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective project management skills; capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to liaise with senior stakeholders and explain complex concepts clearly.

  • Confident in business writing with the ability to produce professional client-facing documentation.

  • Commercially aware with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to generating business opportunities.

  • Collaborative team player with a personable and professional demeanor.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related discipline.

  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, or similar are highly desirable.

This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will need to be in the office 3 days a week.
