Strategic Equity Team Product Strategist RoleAssociate in the Strategic Equity Team within BlackRock’s Fundamental Equity division. We are looking for a high-performing individual able to provide excellent service to clients and interal stakeholders, operate as a knowledgeable equity market practitioner, innovate new ways to source business efficiencies and contribute to growth in the coming years. You would be joining a small and highly focused team with a strong track record of people development and a non-hierarchical culture. The scope is highly global in nature, working with colleagues and clients from multiple continents and client channels. Ability to take on task-based work combined with broader projects and entrepreneurial mindset is essential.

Job Purpose/Background:

Actively searching for a junior Product Strategist to work within Strategic Equity based in London. This role’s purpose is to fulfil client servicing, due diligence and facilitate growth in both existing and new products managed by the investment team.

Role:

  • Product Strategy support for long only and long short products, working closely with existing Product Strategy team and Strategic Equity team investors
  • Key link to facilitate effective interactions between portfolio managers and clients/ consultants, allowing managers to focus on the day to day running of their funds.
  • Provide high quality and responsive client and sales support to facilitate both client retention and acquisition
  • Communicate performance and product positioning/rationale to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with peers across the PS platform globally
  • Efficient preparation for client meetings, through efficient data consumption and preparation
  • Potential to engage directly with clients as skills and experience evolve over time
  • The candidate will also need strong communication skills, excellent numerical skills and be technologically proficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highest quality investment communication to a wide range of clients & prospects
  • Enable "minimal distraction" for portfolio managers
  • Deliver/present highest quality product information to clients, prospects and internal marketing & sales teams with a view to increasing the team’s assets under management
  • Maintain and develop a universe of contacts internally and externally
  • Assist in educating the institutional and retail sales forces where appropriate on the Strategic Equity team’s strategies
  • Assist in developing the Strategic Equity team’s marketing strategy, product messaging, client segmentation and positioning
  • Lead in the preparation of product presentations
  • Customisation and editing/checking of product RFP/RFIs
  • Building industry knowledge

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Educated to degree level and relevant financial markets experience essential
  • Experience in a client service/business development role, within the investment management industry
  • Passion for, and knowledge of equity markets and, ideally, hedge funds

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and articulate fund management strategies clearly and with confidence
  • Strong presentation as well as oral and written communications skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills using proprietary technology.
