About Faculty

At Faculty, we transform organisational performance through safe, impactful and human-centric AI.

With more than a decade of experience, we provide over 350 global customers with software, bespoke AI consultancy, and Fellows from our award winning Fellowship programme.

Our expert team brings together leaders from across government, academia and global tech giants to solve the biggest challenges in applied AI.

Should you join us, you’ll have the chance to work with, and learn from, some of the brilliant minds who are bringing Frontier AI to the frontlines of the world.

About the role

As an Associate, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering practical applications of AI across all aspects of our Energy Transition and Environment (ETE) business.

Working alongside talented teams made up of Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientist and Delivery Managers, you'll have the opportunity to employ our state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to solve some of the world’s most interesting challenges, including decarbonising the UK’s energy generation mix, developing sustainable supply chains, and supporting the infrastructure we need to reach Net Zero.

What you'll be doing:

As a rapidly growing organisation your role will evolve alongside business and customer needs, but you can expect your key day-to-day responsibilities to include:

  • Working directly with clients/customers across our ETE business to deliver value through artificial intelligence

  • Managing individual workstreams to support the successful delivery and implementation of bespoke AI solutions

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships at a working level.

  • Working closely with technical teams to ensure that projects run smoothly on a day-to-day basis, and that our technical solutions meet our customers’ needs.

  • Owning standalone internal Faculty projects (for example, initiatives to improve data collection or internal processes).

  • Supporting business development through undertaking research and creating compelling proposals.

  • Adapting to an environment where no two days are the same, and taking the initiative to make sure each day is better than the one before

We are growing quickly, and you will be encouraged to grow the scope of your role as you wish. This role does not require deep technical knowledge, and we'll help you build your understanding of data science techniques and their application in order to credibly communicate their value to a client, and be an effective member of project teams.

Who we are looking for:

At Faculty, your attitude and behaviour are just as important as your skill set. We look for individuals who can support our values, foster our culture and deliver for our organisation. We are a small business, and we need people who take the initiative. You will be given a high degree of autonomy, while still being given support as part of project teams, and formal opportunities to learn and develop.

We are looking for people that have the below attributes, however we encourage all applicants who believe themselves suitable for the role:

  • Experience working in a consulting, economics or wider professional services role, including experience in a client or customer-facing capacity. Alternatively, you may have such experience working in a software product or services company.

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of industries relating to the Energy Transition (for example utilities, sustainability, generation) will be highly beneficial to your application.

  • Demonstrable knowledge and/or willingness to learn about AI and data science will be highly beneficial to your application.

  • Experience working as part of a team to problem-solve and analyse

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A desire to continuously learn from those around you and improve

  • A proactive desire to take initiative and own the solution to a problem

What we can offer you:

The Faculty team is diverse and distinctive, and we all come from different personal, professional and organisational backgrounds. We all have one thing in common: we are driven by a deep intellectual curiosity that powers us forward each day.

Faculty is the professional challenge of a lifetime. You’ll be surrounded by an impressive group of brilliant minds working to achieve our collective goals.
Our consultants, product developers, business development specialists, operations professionals and more all bring something unique to Faculty, and you’ll learn something new from everyone you meet.
