Team Overview


The Development Portfolio Management Team at OEGEN leads the post-deal management of OEGEN’s global diverse and dynamic portfolio of renewable energy developers and development pipelines. The team’s objective is to exceed the investment case by prioritising added-value activities and providing solutions to changing commercial and market dynamics while maintaining compliance with governance standards. The team achieves this goal by forming strong relationships with developers, funds, and other key stakeholders, thereby facilitating the successful implementation of OEGEN’s investment strategies in the project development sector.



Role Overview:


The Development Portfolio Associate Director is pivotal in leading OEGEN's commercial relationships with approximately 10 development partners under equity investments and joint development agreements across Europe, US, and Asia.


The Development Portfolio Associate Director will contribute to high-level decision-making and long-term planning for OEGEN's development portfolio, as well as collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation and strategic initiatives that enhance the value and impact of OEGEN’s funds.

What you'll do


  • Team Leadership and Support:

  • You will be responsible for leading and motivating a team dedicated to the commercial management of the development portfolio, fostering a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement.
  • Promote professional development and up-skilling to ensure team capabilities align with industry standards and project demands.
  • Deliver Fund Objectives:

  • You will work closely with an OEGEN Fund managers to deliver the overarching fund objectives
  • You will be responsible for reporting against the development fund and investment KPIs.
  • Commercial Management:

  • Provide strategic oversight and direct management of approximately 10 renewable energy developers and development pipelines following deal closures.
  • Conduct regular assessments of investment and overall portfolio performance against objectives, identifying and addressing variances
  • Oversee and enhance the commercial management portfolio companies to meet all contractual obligations and achieve investment objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance of investments to optimise returns and ensure capital efficiency.
  • Governance Oversight:

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior management/shareholders of development partners to ensure that governance practices are well-managed and operational processes are optimised.
  • Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong and productive relationships with developers, funds, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of objectives.
  • Coordinate effective communication strategies to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and collaborative in achieving investment goals.
  • Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to the performance of the portfolio, enhancing investment resilience and performance.
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard investment values and align with OEGEN’s risk appetite.

What you'll need

  • Experience managing and driving strategic initiatives for a portfolio of businesses/developers with renewable assets
  • Strong regulatory, governance, and compliance knowledge, with experience in managing complex operations across various geographical locations.Experience in leadership and strategic management within the renewable energy sector.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with a proven track record in investment portfolio management.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging and influencing a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Strong understanding of the global energy infrastructure markets, regulatory environments, and the unique challenges of energy project development.
  • Understanding of the renewable energy development process
  • Proficient in financial modelling, project management, and data and reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with skills in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
