Role Purpose
The Associate Director, Strategy & Transformation will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the strategic agenda for Everest’s Global Wholesale & Specialty platform.
Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Transformation, this role will act as a central strategic partner to regional Strategy & Transformation leads, underwriting leadership, and functional stakeholders across the business. The role combines top-tier consulting skillsets (problem structuring, executive storytelling, analytical insight) with hands-on delivery, owning priority initiatives from concept through execution.
This is a highly visible role with regular exposure to global executive leadership, requiring strong judgement, intellectual rigour, and the ability to operate credibly across strategy, underwriting, operations, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Strategy & Transformation Support
Support the development and execution of the Global Wholesale & Specialty strategy, ensuring alignment across regions and product lines.
Partner closely with Regional Strategy & Transformation Heads to:
Translate global strategic priorities into regional execution plans.
Provide structured challenge, insight, and problem-solving support.
Ensure consistency of approach, governance, and reporting.
2. Executive Reporting & Board-Level Materials
Own the development of executive-level reporting, including:
Strategy updates, transformation progress, and performance insights. Board, ExCo, and senior leadership presentations.
Translate complex financial, operational, and underwriting data into clear, decision-ready insights.
Maintain high standards of narrative clarity, visual quality, and analytical integrity (consultancy-grade output).
3. Priority Initiative Deep Dives
Lead deep-dive analyses into high-priority strategic and operational topics, such as:
Portfolio profitability and underwriting performance.
Operating model effectiveness.
Investment prioritisation (technology, operations, people).
Regional or product-specific growth or remediation initiatives.
Structure problems, assess options, quantify impact, and support leadership decision-making.
Where required, move beyond analysis to support delivery, tracking milestones, risks, and outcomes.
4. Strategy Delivery & Execution Support
Work with regional and functional teams to support end-to-end delivery of agreed initiatives.
Help establish clear objectives, success metrics, and accountability.
Act as a connective tissue between strategy, underwriting, finance, operations, and technology.
5. Thought Leadership & Ways of Working
Bring external perspective and best practice (e.g. from consulting, peers, market benchmarks).
Help evolve the Strategy & Transformation function’s:
Toolkits, templates, and analytical approaches.
Governance and cadence.
Ways of working with the business.
Candidate Profile:
Top-tier or strong strategy/management consulting and/or
Strategy, transformation, or commercial roles within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services.
Experience working with senior executives and producing board-level materials.
Exposure to complex, multi-region organisations preferred.
Insurance or specialty lines experience strongly preferred (but not mandatory for exceptional candidates).
Core Skill Set
Strong consulting toolkit:
Problem structuring and hypothesis-driven thinking.
Quantitative and financial analysis.
Executive storytelling and slide writing.
Ability to operate across strategy and execution — comfortable getting into detail and driving outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to influence without authority.
High attention to detail with a strong sense of commercial judgement.
Confident, composed, and credible with senior leaders.
