The Advisory team within Transportation provides key decision-making skills and advice to clients around developing and implementing policy and strategy. We help key players in the transport sector plan for the future, work with uncertainty and meet their stakeholders needs. We are part of a Strategic Consulting team with a vision to provide transport solutions that create opportunity for everyone, enrich our communities and enhance our environment.

As part of our growth strategy we are currently seeking to appoint an Associate Director who is a strategic thinker and self-starter, to support the growth and delivery of our Transportation Advisory practice.

Job Duties include:

This is an ideal opportunity for you to provide a leading role within a growing team.

The key features of the role are:

  • Effective relationships with external Clients, and a good understanding of industry challenges.
  • Operate in a collaborative spirit to make the best use of available resources across AECOM
  • Support the delivery of the Advisory business plan to build the team, create a profitable unit and a recognisable brand within agreed timescales Delivery of projects/ advice to high quality and client satisfaction.
  • Actively participate in developing client relationships leading to the winning of work, development of the market
  • Create the necessary pipeline of work to support continuing growth. Lead/Support the delivery of bids through early client engagement, translating win themes into winning bid submissions
  • Strategic thinker and self starter adding to a positive culture of the team.
  • Undertake Health & Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members and fulfilling all responsibilities for health and safety in design.
  • Champion and integrate Sustainable Development and innovation into the work environment and projects delivery.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience of developing and delivering policy and strategy projects in a transport environment Excellent communications skills Project and programme management experience
  • In depth knowledge of the Transport sector industry, macro trends and boardroom challenges, with particular focus on local and regional transport.
  • Relevant academic professional qualifications to reflect the level of seniority of the role, preferably an MBA.
  • Excellent communicator - a leader and champion of the business with an excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise/ present directly with our Clients.
  • An experienced Project Delivery Director and/or successful Bid Director
  • Strategic thinker with significant experience in policy development and strategy.
  • Managing stakeholders and Delivering high-quality advice/solutions in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Line management and mentor experience
