What you are accountable for:

The Associate Director, Media is accountable for driving all aspects of the media planning and activation process and workflow, including the integrated workings of cross-channel platforms for a select group of accounts. You will play a critical role as an integration lead, developing media strategies that translate into media plans while also being responsible for ensuring flawless execution and activation of the plan across all channels. Proven leadership experience, established mentorship success stories, extensive integrated media experience, and strategic thinking are all vital in this position. You will also partner closely with Client Services and senior media leadership to build strong relationships across teams while also ensuring our work product is always thoughtful to the entire customer experience across paid channels and every other brand touchpoint our audiences will use in their journey. \

What you are responsible for:

Internal Stakeholders

  • Lead the cross-channel planning and activation process and workflow for active campaigns across a select group of accounts
  • Understand and articulate buyer personas, roles in purchase decisions, and media intersection with their content consumption
  • Leverage competitive analysis to derive insights to inform investment strategy and identify white space opportunities
  • Act as key integration lead, collaborating with omnichannel, social, search, and content syndication teams throughout the full life cycle of active campaigns
  • Lead the translation of the plan to inputs for activation; in collaboration with the cross-team, direct optimizations throughout the campaign life cycle to meet and/or exceed performance goals
  • Oversee management and maintenance of active media plans within the media planning platform, ensuring the integrity of plans at all times for a select group of accounts
  • Oversees regular budget pacing at the overall plan level and the monthly actualization process for a select group of accounts
  • Maintain quality control while ensuring projects and campaigns are executed completely, correctly, accurately, and efficiently for clients
  • Troubleshoot issues/concerns and work with online partners to resolve as needed
  • Ensure tactics and vendors utilized are GDPR compliant, and ensure all internal processes and procedures are followed, including those specific to certain clients based on their own contractual agreements
  • Remain fully embedded in all aspects of the campaign, including the planning process, through campaign execution and measurement
  • Participate in larger team projects on the future of media planning and activation
  • Maintain a comprehensive grasp of the current data and technology environment relevant to formulating a data strategy for first-party and/or third-party initiatives
  • Exhibit the ability to anticipate and solve problems
  • Own and foster growth in the relationships with agency partners, where applicable

External Customers

  • Work closely with the account and senior media leads to ensure strong senior client relationships on a select group of accounts
  • Discover and deliver new and innovative solutions to cross-channel media activations based on specific client business issues and challenges
  • Acts as a core participant in the development and delivery of agency RFP responses and pitches, as applicable

Market Knowledge

  • Keep current with global industry trends, and ongoing platform evolutions and solution innovation for a select group of accounts
  • Core understanding and knowledge across the digital media landscape, including programmatic and leading ad tech platforms
  • Participate and contribute to the agency's thought leadership initiative, as applicable

Management Responsibilities

  • For a select group of accounts, dotted line and direct line management of the team, mentoring, coaching, and ensuring best practices are shared and maintained
  • Manage workflow of assigned accounts by ensuring tasks are properly delegated across relevant team members
  • Oversee cross-channel process to achieve flawless execution and streamlined operations for a select group of accounts
  • Ensure process and activation best practices are used across a select group of accounts
  • Support internal training and development initiatives specific to agency media planning and activation process, from media strategy to final reconciliation
