Are you passionate about uncovering consumer insights and turning data into impactful stories? We are looking for a talented Associate Research Director for our Financial Services research team.  As an Associate Research Director at YouGov, you'll be at the heart of delivering cutting-edge market research solutions to some of the UK and world’s leading Financial Services brands. You’ll take the lead in designing, managing, and executing research projects that influence business decisions for your clients. 

In this role, you will collaborate with clients to understand their strategic goals, help design and run innovative research methodologies and provide actionable insights. With your expertise in quantitative research, you’ll be responsible for analysing data, preparing reports, and presenting findings that truly resonate. 

You’ll work closely with a talented team of researchers, mentoring junior staff and ensuring the highest standards of research excellence. If you thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment, are driven by curiosity, and love using data to make a real difference, we want you on our team! 

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff): 

  • Lead on end-to-end delivery of research projects, from writing research proposals, designing questionnaires, producing insight-led research reports and delivering engaging client debriefs. 
  • Build & maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted and reliable research consultant. 
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert for financial services delivering thought leadership and an industry perspective to your clients and the wider industry.  
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. 
  • Manage, mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and continual development. 
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of other YouGov products and methodologies to be able to talk to clients about these and promote other parts of our business.  
  • Work closely with our commercial teams to identify opportunities to attract new clients and expand our relationship with existing ones.  

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview: 

  • Proven experience in a market research role with a strong grasp of quantitative research methods.  
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear and actionable insight. 
  • Experience in managing multiple projects, coordinating internal teams and managing stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.  
  • Strong client management skills and the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships. 
  • A passion for storytelling through data and a natural curiosity about market trends. 
  • Interest in playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of market research! 

It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t: 

  • Knowledge and experience of working within the financial services sector 
  • Experience at managing others and supporting their career development 
  • Knowledge and experience of using advanced analytics in quantitative research 
  • Use and understanding of questionnaire scripting software
