Job Description

Job Purpose

The associate director of finance role will provide support to several European sub-regions to grow, management of end-end financials and key finance processes (management accounts, reporting, cashflow, budgeting and forecasting processes) aswell as supporting the integration of PJM businesses into Turner & Townsend.

They will be a strong team player with a substantial ability to provide commercial finance and business partnering support.  

Responsibilities

  • Key business partner of sub-regional/country MDs to drive the business forward
  • Review of financial performance with suggestions to improve performance of key financial and non-financial metrics, i.e. profit, utilisation, WIP, project margin.
  • Management of team responsible for monthly management accounts together with supporting financial analysis, commentary and job profitability.
  • Provide commercial finance support and rate card information for bid signoffs.
  • Maintaining and updating the internal control framework to ensure integrity of financial reporting process.
  • Own the monthly forecast process to ensure an accurate representation of future revenue and profit expectations are shown by cost centre.
  • Support the budget process end to end including meeting all deadlines set by group.
  • Own the monthly cashflow process to ensure an accurate representation of future cashflows and balances
  • Support establishment and financial management of new locations
  • Support integration of PJM businesses into Turner & Townsend
  • Working on ad-hoc projects including new systems implementations, business acquisitions, cross border projects etc.
  • Line management responsibilities of direct reports
  • Work across Europe Finance team to support whole team priorities and provide appropriate guidance and support as necessary.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and simplification.
  • SOX control responsibilities are to be adhered to where applicable
  • Support wider Finance with approval of supplier and payroll payments and other ad-hoc requests and admin as required.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Ability to partner with Operations/delivery to expand and grow businesses while providing financial management / oversight
  • Strong excel and MS office applications experience.
  • Confident individual with good interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Accuracy and high-level attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
  • Substantial understanding of multi-currency environment, accounting principles and processes
