About the role:

We’re looking for an Associate Director, Community & Culture to join Whalar’s Community team - home to our creator and culture experts. This role sits at the heart of the creator economy, connecting brands with the right talent and cultural insights to deliver world-class marketing campaigns. You’ll be a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external partners, setting the standard for how we source, vet, and collaborate with creators across EMEA and beyond.

From decoding cultural trends to building agency relationships and championing diverse creator voices, you’ll ensure Whalar remains the go-to partner for talent discovery, community insights, and creator-first storytelling.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with talent agencies and creators, ensuring seamless access to top talent across markets.
  • Decode culture and spot trends by blending research, data, and cultural context, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Work with Strategy to map communities and online subcultures, understanding what makes them tick, to make data backed recommendations for creator archetypes and creator recommendations.
  • Source and vet creators globally, from micros to celebrities, setting a gold standard for talent selection and championing diversity and representation.
  • Craft compelling pitch materials and client presentations that bring creator stories to life and position Whalar as best-in-class.
  • Lead with tech expertise, leveraging platforms like CreatorIQ, Sprout, and Foam while training teams on best practices.
  • Champion Whalar’s Community value proposition and represent Whalar in the field, ensuring creators and agents see us as trusted, supportive and collaborative partners.
  • Drive team excellence by building processes, playbooks, and structures that make the Community team a true centre of excellence.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years of experience in the creator/influencer landscape with proven agency and creator relationships.
  • A strong network of creators and talent agents (your own “black book” is a big plus).
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present data clearly, visually, and compellingly.
  • A detail-oriented, deadline-driven organizer with excellent project management skills.
  • A proactive, curious thinker who can quickly immerse into new communities and bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • A confident communicator and storyteller, equally at home pitching to clients or training internal teams.
  • Passionate about creators, culture, and helping brands make authentic community connections.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and functionality to enhance productivity, research, and communication in day-to-day work
