About This Role:
As our Associate Director Commercial, UK you will be at the helm of our affiliate-based Therapy Area team, playing a pivotal role in leading full strategic, operational, and tactical responsibilities. In this position, you will be instrumental in crafting and executing marketing plans, driving product development strategies, and managing both pre-launch and post-launch activities. Reporting directly to the General Manager for the UK & Ireland, your actions will significantly impact our business by aligning local strategies with our global vision and driving implementation to achieve launch excellence. Your leadership will ensure that we meet our financial, compliance, and organizational goals while fostering a high-performing team culture that thrives on innovation and excellence. You will be a key figure in our company, ensuring that the value you bring through your role reverberates throughout the business and contributes to our overarching success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans that analyze markets and define short and long-term strategies for product development in line with company goals.
  • Manage pre-launch and post-launch activities, ensuring seamless alignment with EU+ and global strategies and driving local implementation for launch excellence.
  • Represent the affiliate business in internal meetings, advocating for local needs and ensuring compliance with local laws and codes.
  • Lead brand and portfolio strategy, including pricing and market expansion efforts, while monitoring and adjusting strategies based on market research and competitor insights.
  • Set KPIs, oversee affiliate commercial performance, and develop growth plans to maximize business returns.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across functions to drive performance and maintain compliance.
  • Recruit and train a high-caliber team, setting meaningful pre-launch KPIs and bespoke development plans to prepare for a flawless launch.
  • Drive innovation and foster leadership at all levels, ensuring strong collaboration between Sales, Marketing, and other departments.
  • Build and develop strong customer relationships, maintaining a network of healthcare professionals and working in partnership to develop services and treatments.
  • Promote a professional and positive image of the company and its products to key healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
  • Set and drive local delivery against KPIs, ensuring the highest standards of strategic account management and execution with operational excellence.
  • Work with Field Force Excellence to motivate sales teams and drive compliant performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, with a CIM marketing diploma preferred.
  • Substantial marketing experience or transferable commercial experience in the biotech/pharma industry.
  • Proven experience managing products in secondary care and skilled in opinion leader liaison.
  • Previous experience in sales, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Cross-functional experience within multiple disciplines (medical, sales, marketing) or deep expertise within a function.
  • Demonstrated ability in navigating crowded markets with cost containment challenges.
  • Track record of launching new products and driving growth within a portfolio.
  • Broad commercial expertise, including the ability to evaluate and analyze customer and market needs.
  • Leadership, motivational, and people management skills.
  • Awareness of change management principles and experience leading and building organizations adept at responding to change.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for field engagement and building relationships with key opinion leaders/influencers.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
