The Counsel, Legal Contracts can be office-based, hybrid, or fully remote. This position provides legal advice and support in the drafting, review and negotiation of agreements with minimal oversight. This individual serves as the primary contact, within the department and with internal and external customers, for agreements assigned to their group.

The Counsel, Legal Contracts role ensures that PPD Clinical Research Services' best interests are protected at all times and that senior and executive management have the legal information vital to make informed decisions and grant approvals for business risks.

A day in the Life:

  • Provides legal advice and support in the drafting, review and negotiation of agreements with PPD Clinical Research Services vendors to include clinical and corporate agreements (e.g. MSA, SaaS agreements, and other unique non-standard contracts).

  • Work independently except for escalations per internal processes to the team AD.

  • In addition to contracts, handles department matters and general legal concerns raised by internal customers and senior management.

Keys to Success:Education:

  • Law degree is required.

  • Previous experience with contract negotiations in international company that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 to 5 years).

  • Advanced level of English

  • Previous experience with legal contracts negotiations within the CRO industry as well as experience with people management will be considered advantage.

  • Leads the implementation of process improvement opportunities and oversees junior members of the department.

  • Develops and delivers appropriate legal trainings to business and legal team members
