  • Interacting with senior client executives

Ultimately, as the associate consultant develops their knowledge of Hackett’s Intellectual Property and methodology and builds strong consulting skills, they will be expected to act as a the primary project manager on client engagements. Longer term professional development could involve support of business development, development of subject matter expertise in selected fields, a leadership role within the practice, or rotation into one of Hackett’s other lines of business.

The role requires the following personal and professional attributes:

  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in performance management and strategy for business and support functions (Finance, HR, IT, Procurement)
  • Very strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and activities across multiple, simultaneous projects
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to interact and engage clients, ranging from administrative resources through to C-Level executives, using empathy, content knowledge and personality to build long-term relationships
  • Very strong analytical skills, especially relating to the ability to collate large amounts of data and then identify and concisely communicate insights gained from this information
  • The ability to work independently without close supervision as well as in small teams of professionals across all of Hackett’s line of business
  • Trustworthiness and personal integrity when accessing confidential Hackett and client data and information which is commercially sensitive
  • Numerical literacy, strong MS Office skills and an eye for detail

Non-mandatory but beneficial skills include fluency in a second language (besides fluent English).

The associate consultant should also be willing to travel (the role combines onsite and offsite work) and has the permanent right to work in the UK.

The associate consultant would report into one of Hackett’s managers/directors in the EMEA benchmark practice. The role is in London.

The associate consultant will be trained in Hackett’s methodology and IP via a combination of modular training courses, consulting soft-skill training as well as ‘on the job’ experience working directly with clients. Hackett consultants / senior consultants benefit from exposure to a wide range of clients in different industries and with different challenges, a high degree of responsibility and access to senior client executives early in their career, the opportunity to travel and work with a team of highly motivated professionals, in addition to a competitive starting salary, performance-related bonus and annual pay review.
