About your team: 

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

We’re looking for an Associate Business Development Manager to support the growth of Centrica’s Net Zero Business by sourcing, developing, and closing new opportunities across governmental, commercial, and other strategic sectors. We require a motivated, proactive relationship builder to develop innovative solutions for our clients.

About the role:

  • Support Net Zero Growth – Be the subject matter expert on Centrica’s products and solutions, helping clients on their journey to net zero carbon.
  • New Business Development – Identify, nurture, and convert sales opportunities with new clients, partners, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Strategic Account Management – Manage relationships with existing clients to uncover new opportunities and drive sales, while delivering customer-focused solutions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Work cross-functionally with Business Development, Partnerships, Procurement, and other Centrica functions to capitalise on market opportunities.
  • Market Insight – Provide innovative solutions and market intelligence to influence strategies and identify growth avenues.
  • Support Net Zero Transition – Help clients navigate their net zero carbon journey, leveraging funding opportunities and Centrica's services.
  • Promote Brand & Profile – Contribute to raising Centrica's profile through marketing strategies, social media presence, and industry events.
  • Operational Excellence – Collaborate with internal teams to ensure readiness and capability in delivering successful net zero projects, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A tenacious self-starter with the drive to uncover and close new business opportunities.
  • A passion for new energy solutions and decarbonisation with a keen interest in helping clients achieve their sustainability goals with tailor made solutions from our Centrica products.
  • Resilience and the ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities, ensuring delivery of sales targets.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence key stakeholders.
  • An articulate communicator who can effectively present ideas and engage clients.
  • A keen learner who is eager to grow, develop, and take on more responsibility over time
