Pay: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (estimated)
Job type: Full-time, in person

About us
We’re a litigation firm representing Texas appraisal districts and other local governments. Most of our work involves disputes over property value for tax purposes. It’s an intellectually demanding practice that combines valuation, statutory interpretation, trial work, and appellate work. Litigation can sometimes mean demanding hours, but our goal is for our attorneys to have a balanced life. We offer a positive working environment and real mentoring.

What you’ll do

  • Draft pleadings, discovery, discovery responses, and correspondence
  • Research and write briefs and litigation memos
  • Argue discovery motions and other pretrial matters
  • Take part in trials
  • Advise clients on legal questions
  • Start by working alongside an experienced attorney, then move on to managing your own litigation docket

What we’re looking for

  • A Texas law license, or sitting for the Texas Bar soon
  • Litigation experience preferred, but newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply
  • Strong writing and legal analysis
  • Self-motivation, a real interest in litigation, and a strong ethical commitment
  • Willingness to travel often, almost entirely within Texas
  • Interest in partnership track preferred

How pay works
Pay is primarily based on the hours you bill, at $60–$85 per hour depending on experience. You get a monthly base salary that covers your first 60 billed hours. Every hour you bill over 60 in a month is paid at your hourly rate on top of that. You also earn 80 hours of paid time off for every 1,700 hours you bill, and up to 40 unused hours carry over each year.

Benefits

  • Health insurance for you and your family at no cost
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
  • Bar dues and CLE paid
  • Other benefits (e.g., dental and vision insurance), available on an elective fee basis

Location
Cedar Park, TX. Must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate before starting.
