About the role

Responsible for assisting the Treasurer in providing a full treasury service to Shop Direct Finance Company (SDFC) and the wider Group, ensuring effective management of funding, cash flows, customer payments, and associated relationships to support the financial health and operational efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Securitisation:

  • Support the Treasurer in managing the £1.7 billion securitisation structure, including liaison with six funding banks.
  • Assist with Rating Agency reviews, annual due diligence, external audits, legal documentation, and internal audits.
  • Produce General Ledger postings and management accounts reports for the securitisation structure.
  • Support Finance in preparing statutory accounts for the securitisation entity and SDFC. Cash Management and Reporting:
  • Maintain control over all company bank accounts and ensure secure, accurate processing of payments.
  • Produce daily cash flow reports for the Executive Committee and Shareholder Executives.
  • Calculate daily cash positions and analyse cash movements for SDFC.
  • Manage SDFC cash deposits using appropriate investment products.
  • Administer and execute ad-hoc payments, including inter-company, external, and confidential payments.
  • Prepare daily cash forecasts, interest charge forecasts, and securitisation structure forecasts.

Customer Payments:

  • Manage customer payment processes, including contractual relationships and cost analysis.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding customer payments.
  • Lead tendering processes for payment-related costs and ensure PCI compliance.

Interest Costs:

  • Minimise interest costs through effective yield and maturity selection and interest rate hedging strategies.
  • Analyse and report on interest charges in management accounts.

Third-Party Relationships:

  • Act as SME and operational lead for banking operations, including BACS facilities, Direct Debit setups, and online banking systems.
  • Manage relationships with banks and third-party providers, including fraud prevention and operational queries.
  • Oversee the opening/closing of bank accounts and amendments to bank mandates.
  • Strategic Support:
  • Provide financial analysis and SME input for strategic initiatives, including “World Class” projects and Skunkworks. ·
  • Represent The Very Group externally for PCI compliance and customer payment processing.
About you
  • MCT or CCAB qualification with post-qualification experience in Treasury.
  • Detailed working knowledge of securitisation structures.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial services products.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking operations and individual Group business strategies.
  • Relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Initiative and influencing skills to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Project management expertise.
