Assistant Technologist

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Technologist to provide a key support within our Soft Lines Own Label [Apparel, Bags & Accessories] business, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant and exceptional-quality products that reflect the standards of a premium brand.

About the Role

As an Assistant Technologist, you will support the Garment Technologist and Senior Technical Manager in maintaining product quality, technical integrity and compliance across the Soft Lines category, including Apparel, Bags & Accessories. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will play an integral role throughout the product lifecycle, contributing to fit, compliance, sustainability and technical accuracy while helping to protect brand standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the technical critical path by monitoring supplier timelines, identifying risks and communicating updates to stakeholders
  • Organising and documenting fit sessions, maintaining fit logs and ensuring timely feedback is issued to suppliers
  • Ensuring all products meet relevant legislation, testing standards and country-specific compliance requirements
  • Managing inspection protocols aligned to AQL standards and supporting non-compliance investigations
  • Maintaining accurate technical records, completing design packs and producing technical copy for packaging and reporting

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be an organised, detail-driven technical professional with a genuine passion for product and quality. You will be comfortable working across multiple styles and deadlines, communicating clearly with suppliers and internal teams, and supporting senior stakeholders with accurate, timely technical information. You will bring a proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong understanding of garment construction and compliance, and the confidence to contribute within a fast-paced, premium environment.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar technical or quality-focused role
  • A strong understanding of product construction, fabric technology and testing, ideally within a premium or luxury brand
  • A technically relevant qualification, preferably at degree level, alongside solid PC literacy and system experience
