The Role:

  • The role requires the ability to combine technical tax knowledge with business acumen to effectively ensure the groups VAT position is managed in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Salary: Competitive

The Location: This role is based in London, Victoria and you will be working 3 days in the office.  

The Team:

You will be a part of a tax team, reporting to Head of Tax, alongside three other tax professionals.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT returns.

  • Responsible for ensuring timely payment of all relevant VAT liabilities.

  • Obtaining relevant supporting information from the various accounting/other software/finance and commercial team members to prepare VAT returns.

  • Involvement with the review of internal VAT risk controls, record keeping and processes.

  • Implementing simplifications of existing VAT structures, and where applicable assisting with the testing and implementation of new accounting and related VAT automation software.

  • Providing advice on VAT issues such as, property transaction, to the business.

  • Assisting in the setting up of new VAT registrations and de-registration of entities for VAT as required.

  • Preparation and submission of corporate and partnership tax returns for the group entities.

  • To provide support on general mixed tax compliance and tax advisory projects and assignments.

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • VAT experience working on various VAT group registrations.

  • ACCA/ACA/CTA/ATT qualified.

  • Problem solving and organisational skills.

  • Good communication skills and determination to complete tasks.

  • Experience of using D365 is desirable.

  • Strong excel skills.
