We are seeking an Assistant Sustainability Reporting Manager to join our central Group Sustainability Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting in the delivery of our external sustainability reporting with a focus on CSRD compliance.

The role will require working collaboratively with colleagues across our central group services, including, finance, HR, Risk, Legal and Compliance, IT and Procurement, as well as colleagues across multiple Howden entities in more than 50 countries.

Please note this is a full-time, permanent role based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, the expectation is to be onsite 2 times per week on average.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group Sustainability Reporting Manager in complying with CSRD requirements; mapping risks and opportunities (IROs) against European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS); and develop a detailed project plan to ensure implementation by key compliance dates.

  • Assist in managing external assurance of the double materiality process.

  • Manage the annual refresh of the double materiality assessment.

  • Continuously review data and policy gaps, and work with internal subject matter experts to develop improvement plans to close identified gaps.

  • Engage with stakeholders across Howden group functions, including colleagues across multiple Howden entities as well as third-party partners, to meet delivery dates.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the central ESG reporting roadmap.

  • Work closely with the Sustainability Research and Reporting Associate to monitor and track evolving and emerging reporting requirements.

  • Support as required in the delivery of existing reporting requirements, including Climate Related Financial Disclosures, CDP, EcoVadis and ClimateWise.

  • As required, support in the delivery of the Group Sustainability Report.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role within a large corporate or consultancy; familiarity with European businesses and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a plus.

  • Strong project management skills, including coordinating multiple stakeholders on complex projects.

  • Experience working with external assurance providers.

  • Deep knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, SASB, and GRI.

  • Strong understanding of sustainability and broader ESG issues.

  • Familiarity with ESG reporting platforms is beneficial.
