Assistant Management Accountant

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to support in the management accounting function for the Harrods Retail Group. You will be responsible for regular financial reporting and presenting information to senior stakeholders in the business. 

About the Role

The Assistant Management Accountant will partner with senior stakeholders to deliver efficient financial reports. This role will report into a Finance manager and be a part of the Finance Control team.

You will also:

  • Prepare and post monthly financial journals 
  • Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Periodic reporting and analysis. This includes issuing monthly P&L’s to cost centre owners and performing ad hoc financial analysis as required;
  • Present financial reports to the wider business (incl. senior stakeholders)
  • Support with the design and build of Internal reporting using various systems. (eg. SAP)
  • Support with budgeting/forecasting, by working closely with the Team to report accurate monthly forecasts along with the preparation of detailed annual budgets; 
  • Support with the year end statutory audit, providing information to external auditors when requested, in a timely manner;
  • Preparation of bank transfers, ensuring payments to vendors and refunds to customers are appropriately authorised according to the bank mandate and expense authorisation matrix;
  • Assisting the Fixed Assets Accountant with setting up capital expenditure warrants on the system, ensuring projects have been appropriately authorised prior to projects being set up on the system and budget being made available to Project Managers
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and team in ad hoc tasks as required.

About You

You will have previous experience in a similar role, and will be in the early stages of studying towards an ACCA or CIMA qualification (Certificate level or equivalent). 

You will also:-

  • Be an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills;
  • Have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  • Have the willingness to challenge processes and come up with improved solutions;  
  • Have strong time-management skills and the ability to multi-task;
  • Have strong PC literacy, particularly Excel. SAP experience is advantageous.
