Job Description

As an Assistant Accountant, you will contribute to the accuracy of our financial reporting, assisting with period-end processes and analysis to support the wider Management Accounts team.

You will play a pivotal role within the Management Accounts team, reporting to the Senior Accountant. Your primary focus will be the production and subsequent analysis of the period-end management accounts.

Following recent growth and ongoing changes within the Finance environment, the demand for more detailed and granular reporting has increased. By joining us, you will provide the essential support needed to maintain our high standards, allowing the team to effectively manage these evolving requirements while ensuring we continue to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and practical experience. Working closely with other members of the team you will gain exposure to multiple facets of finance. This hands-on experience will not only accelerate your technical understanding but also provide a solid foundation for your future career within the finance department.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards AAT.
  • Ability to show initiative and grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage with a wide range of financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Additional Information

  • Preparing and processing period end journals to ensure all accounting entries are recorded in a robust and accurate manner.
  • Reconciling cashbooks and collating financial information at an entity level.
  • Analysing accruals and prepayments to ensure all balances are fully supportable and accurately reflected in the accounts.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and presenting findings to the Senior Accountant, highlighting any issues or concerns for review.
