The Role

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Global Finance team on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in performing accounts payable activities related to advances and royalty payments, processing quarterly statement payouts, weekly bank reconciliations, and supporting other ad-hoc financial projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Process advance and royalty-related payments across all Kobalt Music Group entities
  • Set up and manage twice-weekly payment runs for clients
  • Approve vendor requests and assist in raising purchase orders
  • Monitor incoming finance tickets and liaise with internal teams including Business Affairs, Client Relations, and the France office
  • Contact clients to verify bank details and resolve invoice-related queries
  • Create and post journals to ensure accurate and timely accounting entries
  • Ensure full compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations
  • Support ongoing automation projects to increase operational efficiency
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the broader finance team as required
What You’ll Bring

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets proficiency
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet competing deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to engage across multiple teams
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with numerical data
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership

Additional Skills That Could Add Value:

  • Experience processing client-related payouts
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP/accounting platforms
What Success Looks Like

By Month 3:
You’re confidently managing payment cycles, reconciliations, and finance queries with minimal supervision.

By Month 6:
You’ve become the go-to contact for your areas of responsibility and can independently manage key payment and reconciliation tasks.

By Year 1:
You’ve contributed to automation initiatives, documented best practices, and consistently ensured accuracy across finance processes.

  • Interview with the hiring manager Chris and a team member. 
  • Final-stage interviews onsite at our London office
