WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking to recruit a talented and highly driven art director to work across 2 key accounts in the agency. As well as support some on-going agency pitch work.

An Art Director who can take a creative idea and display the skill and vision to translate this into a strong, impactful and superbly crafted visual language - one that elevates the concept and complements the brand. Bridging the worlds of creative concepting and design, showing a strong understanding of both worlds is key.

At Octagon, our work spans many sectors, brands, properties and mediums. We specialise in partnerships. The brand and the rightsholder each have their own worlds, and we create concepts that bridge the two speaking to fans in a unique way.

While a sports and entertainment background isn’t essential, the art director must be able to show a passion and knowledge of visually impactful work in these spaces, as well as being on-top of new inspiration and trends to continually push our thinking and output.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone with an expert eye for detail and craft. Someone who can help take the look and feel of our creative work to the next level.

  • Conceptualise campaign vision, harnessing original graphics, copy, website content, social media, activations and other marketing materials.
  • Delegate projects to in-house designers and oversee storyboards
  • Obtain team approval of final layouts, storyboards, and illustrations; encourage members to provide feedback; and respond to internal commentary and requests
  • Oversee presentation of final concepts and coordinate production and dissemination for cross-organizational use

REQUIREMENTS

The following are essential:

  • Minimum of 3/4 years of professional experience in design/creative/art direction
  • Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Exceptional ability in typography and layout.
  • Highly skilled in leading designs and client presentations
  • Strong creative vision with attention to business objectives
  • Solid knowledge of photography and video production
