Job Description

As an Application Support specialist at JPMorgan Chase within the front office trading FX and Commodities team ,you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills as well as problem solving skills to maintain and continuously improve our global application systems.
You will support application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You will also use technical skills to deep dive into front office flow related application issues and build/enhance software solution to improve the support experience for our business users.
Job responsibilities

  • Provides end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery to enable successful business operations of the firm.
  • Provides support for the day-to-day maintenance of the firm's systems to ensure operational stability and availability.
  • Assists in the monitoring of production environments, debugging production issues and addressing issues utilizing standard observability tools.
  • Analyses complex situations and trends to anticipate and solve incident, problem, and change management in support of full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with all levels of seniority including the developers, business users, traders and global production management teams.
  • Collaborates as part of a team and develop meaningful relationships at work.
  • Interacts directly with the Front Office traders, Middle office users as well as with our Application Development and Global Infrastructure partners.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services.
  • Familiarity of one or more general purpose programming languages
  • Experience in a financial institution as front office application support or application development professional.
  • Working knowledge of production incident management.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical language into meaningful business impact statements.
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud.
  • Experience in observability and monitoring tools and techniques.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of Macro business concepts related to front office trading, risk, pricing and booking in FX and Commodities areas.
  • Experience with Python programming language.
  • Knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud.
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies.
