Job Description: Application Support Engineer - Atlassian cloud migration contractor 

Duration: 6 Months FTC 

Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Cloud Migration Contractor to lead and support the transition from Data Centre to Jira and Confluence Cloud. This role requires hands-on expertise in the Atlassian suite, including but not limited to
configuration, data migration, testing and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing migrations from Data Centre to Cloud within the Atlassian Suite, with a focus on collaborative tooling, data management, agile and user adoption.
 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct review of all Jira and Confluence projects, boards, filters, fields and dashboards. 
  • Create test cases and execute tests to ensure a smooth migration. 
  • Assist with release planning and support release to 500+ users.  
  • Assist with the structured migration of data from Data Centre to Cloud. 
  • Develop and implement governance policies and best practice guidelines to ensure consistent and secure use of the Atlassian suite.  
  • Provide training and support to users, ensuring they understand and adhere to the new configurations and policies. 

 

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience in Jira/Confluence implementation and administration, with a track record of successful projects in mid-sized or large organisations. 
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in both Jira/Confluence Data Centre and Cloud, including site configuration, access control, security management, and data migration. 
  • Governance and Best Practices: Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and best practice guidelines for Atlassian Suite usage. 
  • Data Management: Hands-on experience with data cleanup, deduplication, and document organisation within SharePoint. 
  • Training and Support: Ability to deliver user training and provide ongoing support, with excellent communication skills. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and address issues proactively. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Atlassian Certified Professional  
  • Experience managing Jira and Confluence projects in Cloud  
  • Jira Service Management Administrator
