About the role:

The Application Management Engineer role at Zilch is an exciting position that provides plenty of technical challenges, project work and opportunity to represent the ITAM team business wide.

This role focuses on supporting the Core Zilch application and a group of Application Support Analyses within a sub team. You will be working closely on all support aspects, including managing customer escalated ticket queues, executing data fixes and understanding processes and customer experience throughout the customer journey. This role also works closely with our internal Engineering and Product teams to help them troubleshoot, improve product delivery and provide feedback on our customer journey.

The successful candidate will have been in a similar role previously. They will have a tenacious attitude to best practice, have great technical skills, especially with SQL and REST API. They must be organised, know how to motivate, communicate efficiently and be passionate about caring for our customers. 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Technical investigation and analysis of incidents, problem replication, fault diagnosis, code fix, and call closure to customer satisfaction
  • Implement and test new software development as well as upgrade and maintain existing systems
  • Build tools for the ITAM team
  • Scripting and API work
  • Continually improving our code, our systems, our practices and our knowledge
  • Work on projects and shorter-term deliverables
  • Assist in ad-hoc development and technology related duties

What we’re looking for:

  • An enthusiast who lives and breathes application
  • An Engineer who is wholehearted about keeping our customers happy through providing best support and look to (directly and indirectly) improve our product offering
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to problem solve
  • SQL and/or Python scripting
  • Proven track record of support SQL based systems
  • DataDog or similar platform experience
  • Experience supporting REST integrated systems
  • Experience in working in an Agile environment, experience of development cycles and best practices
  • Great attention to detail and understanding of risk
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent process understanding and awareness of Data best practices
  • Proven experience of working in a team as well on their own
  • Clear verbal and written communication

Bonus skills:

  • Experience supporting AWS systems
  • Experience working within the FinTech industry
  • Exposure to caching systems like Redis or Memcached
