JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott’s nutrition business is part of Abbott Laboratories Ltd. manufacturing the most trusted names in nutrition products for every stage of life—from nourishing infants and new mums for a healthier start, to providing active adults with the vitamins and minerals they need to perform at their best, to meeting the distinct nutritional needs of people with acute or chronic conditions.

Within the UK, our business spans across two key markets:

Reimbursed: selling directly to the NHS where our medical nutrition products are prescribed to patients via healthcare professionals, Direct-to-consumer: selling directly to the end user via online and in-store channels.

Abbott’s nutrition business is delighted to be offering two marketing internship positions to support our Brand Managers in executing marketing strategies and tactics, which will provide the opportunity to gain experience across a number of marketing channels and working with a broad cross-functional team. Throughout the 13-month placement, you will have the opportunity to work on the direct-to-consumer side of the business, supporting the respective brand managers across a variety of marketing initiatives including:

  • Conducting competitor analysis
  • Developing materials to support campaigns (concept to execution)
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g., social media, direct mail, and web)
  • Supporting with budget management

This opportunity is suitable for a student studying towards a degree (Bachelors or Integrated Masters) in a Marketing or Business-related topic and would form part of a year in industry requirement. You will be confident at working independently as well as part of a team, demonstrate a creative flair whilst balancing this with ability to work in a process-based environment, and offer a people-focused mindset.

Throughout the placement, you will have regular opportunities to learn, develop, grow and of course gain continuous feedback, coaching and mentoring to further support your learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to experience marketing activities at the forefront of the healthcare and consumer industries.

This role will be based at our Maidenhead site.

To apply for this 13-month opportunity, please submit your CV and cover letter. The closing date for applications is 4th April 2025. By submitting your application, you consent for your details to be shared to our Third Party Labour supplier who is working on behalf of Abbott on this position.

Abbott is proud to see a number of our students return to us for permanent roles post-graduation, and our internship opportunities are a stepping stone to a longer-term career with us. To be eligible therefore to apply, it is a requirement that candidates can demonstrate the assured on-going right to work, without the need for sponsorship now or in the future, thus must be already eligible to work in the UK, or able to apply for a visa granting permission to work in the UK (e.g. dependent visas, ancestry etc.) that do not require future sponsorship.

By submitting your application, you consent for your details to be shared with our Third Party Labour supplier who are working on behalf of Abbott on this position.
