Job Description

Abtrace is a venture-backed company building software to support primary care teams in making proactive health interventions. Our product detects signals of deterioration, early onset of disease, and opportunities for preventative care across 500+ practices covering 6 million patients. We leverage advanced analytics, intuitive data visualisations, and robust data pipelines to inform critical business decisions and shape the future of healthcare.

Role Overview

We're seeking a multi-talented professional to blend business intelligence, data analysis, and visualisation with data engineering. You'll create interactive dashboards, analyse complex healthcare datasets, and build scalable data models using Power BI, SQL, and modern data tooling — helping empower decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and interactive visualisations to support business decision-making
  • Design and implement data models that enable efficient reporting and analytics, ensuring high data quality and integrity
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, operations, clinical) to align data solutions with business objectives and healthcare regulatory standards
  • Monitor data quality and governance to ensure compliance with healthcare data security and privacy requirements
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance data accessibility, performance, and reliability

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries and performance optimisation
  • Knowledge of Python for scripting and automation
  • Experience with Power BI, including dashboards, visualisations, data models, and transformations
  • Hands-on experience with data modelling and transforming large datasets into insights
  • Experience with data engineering: pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related tools
  • Familiarity with database design, administration, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with best practices for data visualisation and UX design
  • Background or experience in healthcare, clinical systems, or regulatory environments (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment with changing priorities

Think you're almost the right fit? Some candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the criteria – we encourage you to apply if you meet most of them.

Benefits
    • Competitive compensation
    • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare outcomes
    • Collaborative, inclusive culture focused on learning and innovation
    • Ongoing professional development in emerging data technologies
    • Flexible working with a commitment to work-life balance
