Join us on our mission to make every kid smart with money
GoHenry is seeking an experienced and self-driven Analytics Engineer to be a pivotal part of our Data Platforms team. You won't just be building data models; you'll be shaping the insights that drive our product forward and help millions of kids and teens build good financial habits.

As part of our central group, you will manage data platforms for GoHenry and our parent company, Acorns, working with key technologies like dbt, Dataform, BigQuery, Databricks, Veezoo and Monte Carlo.

This role is based in our London office, with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the UK, provided you are willing to travel to London when needed (typically for our monthly meetups and quarterly offsites). You will be a key member of the Global Data Community, a vibrant group of analysts, scientists, and engineers dedicated to mastering our craft.

What you will do at GoHenry:

We follow a modern ‘Extract, Load, Transform (ELT)’ approach, and as an Analytics Engineer you will focus on the crucial ‘T’. Your primary focus will be designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data models in the GoHenry and Acorns data warehouses, as well as the semantic layer in our agentic analytics platform. You will partner with people across Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to turn raw data into actionable intelligence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, testing, deploying and monitoring data models and semantic models, following all best practices and team standards and processes.

  • Collaborating with and enabling data analysts to build effective models to power their analysis and reporting.

  • Taking a leading role in data observability, supporting data analysts to use the tools available to them to monitor the metrics they own.

  • Keeping our documentation up-to-date.

  • Performing regular proactive maintenance and housekeeping on the data warehouses.

  • Responding to incidents arising from data transformation pipeline failures.

  • Sharing knowledge with other team members, and playing an active role in the wider Acorns/GoHenry data community.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our data practices and taking on new challenges as the team grows.

What you will bring to GoHenry:

Essential:

  • An advanced level of data modelling experience in a data warehouse environment.

  • Experience using a data transformation tool such as dbt or Dataform.

  • A curiosity and desire to learn how GoHenry and Acorns works, and gain a deep understanding of the product structure and business models.

  • Previous experience working as a data analyst, to be able to design data models to meet the needs of data analysts and other data warehouse users.

  • An engineering mindset, with knowledge of DataOps.

  • An excellent understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices. You will be equally comfortable starting with a blank canvas and extending complex existing solutions.

  • Ability to write advanced analytical SQL queries.

  • A team player fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Good working knowledge of Databricks and BigQuery.

  • Experience building semantic models/knowledge graphs, or a desire to learn.

What’s in it for you?

All the essentials you would expect, including a workplace pension plan, 33 days of holiday (including public holidays), & great company events local & abroad!

Other Offers:

  • GoFlex - Work from Home, Office, or a mix of both

  • 25 days annual leave, in addition to 8 UK bank holidays

  • An excellent Induction & onboarding program with ongoing learning & development throughout your career

  • A choice between Bupa Health Cash Plan or Bupa Private Medical
