Background to our team:

The Howden Mergers & Acquisitions team is a market leading provider of specialist
insurance solutions for M&A risks. The 150+ professionals that make up our dedicated team have a wide variety of backgrounds, including insurance, law, tax, investment banking, environmental consultancy and general industry as well as graduates from a variety of disciplines. We have offices in London, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid, Stockholm, Singapore, Warsaw, Paris and Amsterdam, working with clients across Europe, Asia and North America.

We are seeking a personable and ambitious individual to assist in growing our insurance due diligence business; The role will require an entrepreneurial approach, a willingness to use initiative and the ability to work well as part of a team; As part of the role, you will provide insurance advice to investor clients. Our clients include Private Equity, Corporate and Infrastructure investors.

What you'll do

With support and training from Howden M&A, you will provide pre-acquisition and pre-divestment insurance due diligence services. Key elements of the role:

  • Advise clients on the existing and historical insurance programme to determine if the
    insurance programme is in line with expectations;

  • Identify risk and insurance related issues that may impact the transaction;

  • Determine current costs associated with the insurance programme and comment on factors that will impact future premiums;

  • Review claims data to identity any trends;

  • Issue a formal report to the investor client, followed by meetings to discuss the findings of the report; and

  • Establish a post-completion placement strategy (if relevant).

Who we are looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal skills - confident and able to create a positive impression;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;

  • Customer service skills;

  • Ability to work effectively within a team;

  • The ability to analyse and critique large volumes of information;

  • Attention to detail with ability to produce accurate documentation;

  • Prioritisation and organisational skills, including disciplined filing;

  • Self-motivated and proactive;

  • Internal networking skills;

  • Competent IT skills, including but not limited to Office 365;

  • Able to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training, as required by the industry regulator;

  • One to two years experience of working in insurance or other financial / professional services (desirable but not essential), and

  • Degree (desirable but not essential).
