MUFG, a globally respected financial institution, is seeking a Trade Finance Services Analyst to join their London-based EMEA Operation Office. What you'll do:
- Process all life cycle events of letters of credit including import and export issuance, advising amendments, acceptance, discounting, payment, and document checking with meticulous attention to detail.
- Handle all stages of collections such as import/export, clean/documentary remittance, presentation, acceptance, and payment by applying thorough knowledge of relevant rules and procedures.
- Manage various financing products including trade-based loans, promissory note discounts, invoice discounting, letter of credit discounting, and supply chain finance with precision and care.
- Develop effective working relationships with all trade stakeholders by fostering open communication and sharing knowledge within the team.
- Support training requirements for team members by providing guidance on technical processes and encouraging communal learning.
- Promote a customer-first attitude by communicating professionally with clients and embodying MUFG’s Japanese culture and corporate values.
- Operate as a product specialist by providing subject matter expertise when required to support colleagues and clients.
What you bring:
- Experience working in trade finance operations with proven ability to check shipping documents against UCP600 standards as well as LC terms and ISBP guidelines.
- Thorough understanding of trade finance products including import/export letters of credit, collections (clean/documentary), and related financing solutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UCP600 along with other relevant ICC publications governing international trade transactions.
- Awareness of money laundering controls specific to trade finance operations coupled with familiarity with UK, Japan, and OFAC sanction policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite enabling efficient workflow management and document handling.
- Ability to format Swift messages accurately for seamless communication between financial institutions.
- Excellent time management skills allowing you to handle large workloads while meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.
