Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customised services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.

This interesting analyst position sits in the Sustainable Capital Markets & Solutions team, part of Santander CIB’s Global Sustainability Solutions platform.

This business area provides sustainability structuring, marketing and execution coverage to Santander CIB’s clients.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Providing sustainable finance assistance to SCIB’s clients by supporting the origination of sustainability-related banking and corporate finance transactions globally

  • Transactions may take a wide variety of formats, including (but not limited to) green, social, sustainability, transition, sustainability-linked bonds, loans, project finance, supply chain financing, ECA financing

  • Delivering valuable bespoke solutions to clients by working closely with other members of CIB, including (but not limited to) Sustainability Solutions’ Governance & Innovation, DCM, Syndicate, Liability Management, Syndicated Loans, Structure Finance, GTB, Sales, Debt Advisory, Banking

  • Helping grow the franchise beyond the immediate CIB division by interacting with sustainable finance topics and other areas of the Group

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in Sustainable Finance or Debt Capital Markets position

  • Confidence to speak up with ideas, embrace change and seek innovative ways to improve existing processes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject (Engineering, Finance, Science, Mathematics, Law, Public Policy)

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • CISI – Corporate Finance Module (to be obtained during first 6 months)

  • CISI – Regulatory Module (to be obtained during first 6 months)

  • Fluency in other languages ideally Spanish, French and/or Portuguese

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

How we’ll reward you.

As well as a salary, we offer a wide range of benefits that you can choose from and tailor to your needs.  

  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.

  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
