Overall Purpose of Job:

To act as an SME for the Loans portfolio handled by the Loans Middle Office. To ensure that facilities under the control and management of LMO are maintained accurately within the systems and controls available. Ensuring all facilities can be serviced and all drawings have been processed in a timely manner in accordance with MUFG policies (credit approvals, legal framework, current regulatory and compliance requirement) and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the review loan agreements from an Operational lens to ensure the mechanics of the facility can be supported.
  • Support the LMO client services manager Provide feedback to the Front Office from an Operations perspective on draft agreements for consideration when finalising the detail of the facility
  • Extract data points from the loan agreement to enable event management during the loan trade cycle.
  • Input of facility data upon signing/activation of a loan agreement, creating a credit line and input of collateral.
  • Ensure Bank’s SOX processes relating to deal origination are followed.
  • Log any future updates highlighted in loan documentation e.g. to fees, margin and extension of maturity date in the electronic diary.
  • Be proactive in resolving queries within the team or escalating appropriately.
  • Act upon approved credit applications or e-mail correspondence in a timely manner ensuring any reports/conditions are updated accurately within the banks systems.
  • Assist in project related work, with the ability to suggest enhancements to a given process or procedure.
  • Responsible for the daily reporting and review of breaches, reporting to the FO under a controlled check

Education:

  • Additional language skills advantageous

Work Experience:

  • Considerable experience of working within a Financial Institution Middle Office / Control function.
  • Considerable operational experience of loan products
  • Operational and administrative knowledge of the loan market.
  • Experience in reviewing loan agreements.

Functional/Technical Skills and Knowledge requirements:

  • Bi-lingual Proficient in up-to-date standard practices relative to the products administered within, Loans markets
  • Proficient in the standard Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Loan IQ preferred
