The Role

We are looking for a bright, analytical, and solutions-driven Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing AMRA BI team. This role will play a key part in transforming how we track, analyse, and report on royalties across AMRA’s global operations.

As a data-oriented and strategic thinker, you will be instrumental in building tools and processes that drive value for AMRA and its clients. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in publishing and royalties workflows who is ready to step into a more impactful, end-to-end role in a fast-paced, tech-forward music environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Build tools to track the collection of royalties from overseas collection societies
  • Develop and enhance income tracking systems that support AMRA’s global leadership in transparency
  • Support the Royalty team by improving processing of high-volume statements and linking royalties to song data
  • Create dashboards and reports using large datasets to support internal decision-making
  • Collaborate across functions including Technology, Product, and Operations to deliver complex projects
  • Use SQL and other tools to explore, troubleshoot, and optimize royalty workflows and data structures
  • Deliver clear business analysis and insights to improve operational performance
  • Identify and implement both technical and operational improvements to drive efficiency
  • Provide ad-hoc support to critical processes and data-driven initiatives across the business
What You’ll Bring

Preferred:

  • Proven experience working with royalties workflows, ideally within a music publishing or Collective Management Organisation context
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases
  • Advanced Excel skills and data management abilities
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and balance project-based and operational workstreams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
  • Experience managing projects or delivering business change initiatives in fast-paced, tech-led environments
  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams

Nice to Have:

  • Programming or data wrangling experience (e.g. Python, R)
  • Understanding of international royalty practices and collection societies
  • Experience creating business intelligence dashboards and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
What Success Looks Like

By Month 3:
You’ll have a solid grasp of AMRA’s BI tools, systems, and royalty workflows. You’ll begin contributing to analysis and insight generation that supports key royalty tracking processes.

By Month 6:
You’ll be independently delivering improvements to AMRA’s income tracking systems and providing actionable data insights to stakeholders across the business.

By Year 1:
You’ll be leading BI initiatives, driving business-critical projects, and helping ensure that AMRA provides the most transparent and accurate reporting in the music industry.

Key Behaviours for Success

Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving
You’ll approach challenges with curiosity and data-driven decision-making, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency in royalty tracking.

Collaboration & Communication
You’ll partner with teams across Operations, Technology, and Product, communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Initiative & Innovation
You’ll continuously seek new ways to optimise tools and processes, contributing to AMRA’s mission of delivering transformative services to rights holders worldwide.

Interview Process & Logistics
  • Introductory call with a member of our Recruitment Team
  • Interviews with the AMRA BI team and hiring manager
  • Optional technical task or case study
  • Final stage interview and Q&A

We aim to complete the full process from application to offer within three working weeks. If delays arise, we’ll keep you informed throughout.

Why Choose Us

At Kobalt and AMRA, we’re transforming the music industry with transparency, fairness, and innovation at our core. AMRA is the first global, digital-first collecting society, built for the modern music economy. We champion diversity, equity, and inclusion at every stage of the hiring process and in how we work every day. If you require any adjustments to the application or interview process, let us know — we’re here to support you.
