About the Position

We're looking to hire an experienced Alpha Capture Specialist to help expand and manage relationships between Jane Street and our external partners. You'll be joining a collaborative Alpha Capture team that's growing quickly.

Day-to-day, you will manage a portfolio of external relationships: onboarding new partners, deepening existing ones, and finding ways to make those partnerships work well for both sides. Internally, you'll work with the Alpha Capture team and colleagues across the firm to share context, inform our approach and contribute your own ideas about where we should go next.

We want someone who can use their industry knowledge to engage substantively with partners, advocate for how we should do things and help build our approach over time. You'll be expected to take ownership of your work and influence how we engage with partners in your region.

Staying competitive as we've grown has required constant invention of new trading strategies, technology and processes. The problems we work on rarely have clean answers and often require input from people with different expertise. We find this is easier when you hire humble, kind people who communicate openly and work toward shared goals.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing function at our firm, and we'll endeavour to put your quick thinking and relationship-building skills to good use.

About You
  • Have 5+ years of experience building and managing external relationships, preferably involving alpha capture
  • Have a deep understanding of the sell-side/buy-side dynamic (how ideas are generated, exchanged and acted upon)
  • Keenly interested in financial markets; able to bring credibility and perspective to conversations about individual names
  • Possess strong quantitative skills
  • Comfortable across a wide range of conversations, regardless of the stakes or the audience
  • Self-driven and curious; eager to collaborate across teams and geographies, contribute original thinking and shape what comes next
  • Humble about what you do and don't know; willing to admit mistakes
  • Fluent in English
