The role of the Senior Aladdin Business Analyst – Front, Middle & Back Office  is to support a large-scale investment platform and workflow transformation initiative. In this role, you will partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Investment Teams to design and implement front, mid and back office solutions across asset classes.

You will play a key role in translating investment needs into scalable system capabilities, particularly within platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin and potentially eFront, Bloomberg, and Charles River (CRD). This position requires deep expertise in capital markets workflows, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to bridge front office users with technology and data teams.

Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
    Partner with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, and SMEs to gather and document detailed business and functional requirements. Translate complex investment workflows into actionable specifications for platforms such as Aladdin.
  • Front Office Collaboration
    Act as a trusted advisor to front office stakeholders by understanding portfolio management, trading strategies, and investment decision-making processes. Ensure systems and tools align with how investment teams operate across equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives.
  • Workflow Design & Transformation
    Lead workshops to map current-state to future-state workflows, improving efficiency, scalability, and data integrity. Redesign front office processes (e.g., portfolio construction, trade lifecycle, performance attribution) leveraging capabilities within Aladdin and similar IBOR and ABOR platforms. Must be full stack with knowledge of Front, Mid and Back Office.
  • Data & Systems Integration
    Work closely with technology and data teams to ensure accurate and reliable data across systems, including pricing, security master, risk analytics, and performance reporting. Resolve data and configuration issues impacting front office users.
  • Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management
    Drive initiatives across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of requirements, status reporting, and risk mitigation. Act as a bridge between business and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Testing, Reporting & Change Management
    Support UAT, test case development, and validation of reporting outputs. Partner with change management teams to ensure smooth adoption of new tools and processes with minimal disruption to trading and investment activities.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • 6+ years of Business Analyst experience within capital markets, asset management, or investment management environments
    • Strong experience working with front office teams (Portfolio Managers, Traders, Analysts) as well as Mid and Back office teams.
    • Must have hands-on experience with investment platform BlackRock Aladdin  - a plus would be knowledge with Charles River (CRD), Bloomberg, or eFront
  • Capital Markets Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of front office workflows including portfolio management, order management, trading, and trade lifecycle
    • Experience across asset classes such as equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives (ETDs/OTCs)
    • Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, rebalancing, risk analytics, and performance attribution
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    • Proven ability to translate investment processes into system requirements and workflow designs
    • Experience with IBOR systems and front office data models - preferred with ABOR and PBOR as well. 
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams and investment professionals
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior front office users

Education & Certifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or related field
    • CFA or similar designation is a strong plus

Location

  • This role is Hybrid, in-office up to 4 days/week.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in Canada. 
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following Canadian locations:  Toronto.
