Who we are

Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.

We’re building a different kind of company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look to how they sound, feel, and function, we care about the details that make technology not just useful, but inspiring.

This is a place for the curious. The creators. The ones who ask why not and mean it. If you're drawn to bold ideas, fast moves, and work that actually makes you feel something, you’ll fit right in.

We're not here to follow the rules. We're here to make better ones.

About Nothing

Founded in London in 2020, Nothing is a design-led tech company building an alternative to the industry giants. Our products – from award-winning smartphones to expressive audio and wearables – blend iconic design with intuitive engineering to put people and creativity back at the centre of consumer tech.

Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, C Ventures, and influential investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’ve grown from startup to global challenger in just a few years.

6-Month fixed-term contract | Start date: September 2025
Location: London (on-site, full-time)

Join Nothing for a six-month internship with our creative and experimental AI & Services team. As part of the Global Product division, you'll be involved from day one, contributing to work that sits at the intersection of design, engineering, product, and artificial intelligence.

This is a hands-on role with real impact. You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team and report directly to the AI & Services Lead. Together, you’ll help shape bold, forward-thinking ideas that push the boundaries of what consumer tech can be.

What you'll do

You’ll be part of our most exploratory team, helping to prototype and test future-facing features and experiences. This role spans multiple disciplines and encourages a balance of technical thinking, creative problem-solving and cultural awareness.

You will:

  • Prototype AI-powered concepts that blend practical use with creative ambition
  • Build tools, scripts or small services to streamline workflows and unlock new ideas
  • Contribute to the UX and UI of live product features
  • Train, test and evaluate generative models and language models
  • Explore how AI can enhance storytelling, voice interfaces and human–machine interaction
  • Take part in brainstorms, design sprints and hands-on creative sessions
  • Collaborate with teams across industrial design, engineering and communications to bring ideas to life
What we’re looking for

You might be just starting out in your career, recently completed a course, or be entirely self-taught. What matters most is your curiosity, your willingness to experiment and your technical ability to bring ideas to life.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Genuinely interested in how technology connects with culture, creativity and design
  • Comfortable with code or confident picking up new tools and frameworks quickly
  • A clear, thoughtful communicator who can explain their thinking and ideas
  • Organised, proactive and able to take ownership of tasks and projects
  • Open-minded and confident enough to question assumptions and try new approaches
How to apply

Send us your CV along with a short write-up of a recent project you’re proud of. Tell us what you built, why you built it and the impact it had. This could be a personal project, coursework, something from a hackathon or anything self-initiated.

We’re not looking for perfection. We want to understand how you think, how you approach problems and how you turn ideas into working solutions. Applications without a CV and project write-up won’t be considered.

Please note
  • You must already have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor visas for intern roles
  • This internship is based in our London office and requires full-time, in-person attendance, five days a week

What we offer
  • A chance to shape the voice of one of the most exciting tech brands
  • Fast-paced and creative environment with global reach
  • A culture that values curiosity, creativity, and doing things differently
  • A commitment to building a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace for all
